That\u2019s been his line for a while. This time it came with a prop: his new book, Solana Rising, which dropped Dec. 9 and \u2014 according to Scaramucci \u2014 quickly hit the top of Amazon\u2019s \u201cnew releases\u201d list for investment management\/investment strategy. He framed the book as something for the skeptics, or at least for the friends of the believers.<\/p>\n
The pitch is familiar if you\u2019ve been anywhere near crypto conferences this year, but Scaramucci\u2019s version is unusually blunt: Solana is the fastest-growing chain, it\u2019s stacked with activity, it\u2019s cheap to use, and it\u2019s easy to build on. Then you add staking, and you\u2019ve got what he keeps calling \u201cgreat tokenomics.\u201d<\/p>\n
And yes, he\u2019s heavily aligned. \u201cFull disclosure,\u201d he said, \u201cI have a large personal holding in Solana. I have it on the firm’s balance sheet.\u201d How large? On SkyBridge\u2019s balance sheet, he put it at \u201cprobably 60%,\u201d with the firm sitting on \u201cnorth of a nine figure balance sheet.\u201d His personal portfolio allocation, he estimated, is around \u201c6% 7%.\u201d Big, but not \u201cI sold the house for SOL\u201d big.<\/p>\n
Notably, Scaramucci emphasized that he\u2019s not \u201cchain monogamous.\u201d He likes Avalanche. He likes Ethereum. He\u2019s not doing maximalism. He\u2019s doing a portfolio. \u201cIn fact, who is chain monogamous?\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n
The Skybridge Capital founder added: \u201cIt’s not an amorous thing. It just has to do with the realities of investing. It’s like owning a lot of stocks in your portfolio. But to me, I just think that it is the fastest growing chain. That’s the most activity of like the top 50 chains combined. It’s got lots of use cases, lots of versatility. It’s easy to develop on and it’s very low fees to transact on and it’s got great tokenomics if you want to stake your Solana like I do.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also pointed to the debut of the first spot Solana ETF in the United States \u2014 \u201cfirst staking ETF,\u201d in his words \u2014 as another signal that we\u2019re still early. Then came the price talk, because of course it did.<\/p>\n
Could SOL hit $300\u2013$400 by the end of next year? \u201cSure,\u201d he said, tying it to a more constructive US regulatory backdrop \u2014 specifically his hope that the CLARITY Act gets passed and unlocks \u201cthe full utilization of tokenization.\u201d Longer term, he went bigger: \u201cIs Solana go to $1,000 over the next five years? I really do believe that.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also revisited Bitcoin. Same vibe: right call, wrong calendar. \u201cI\u2019ve been right about Bitcoin, but I\u2019ve been wrong about timing,\u201d Scaramucci said, sticking with a $150,000\u2013$200,000 target, and arguing a friendlier rate environment next year could help.<\/p>\n
