Areas of the Apurinã territory in the Lower Seruini area of southern Amazonas have been sold as NFTs (non-fungible tokens) by Nemus, a company that claims to be focused on preserving the forest and generating carbon credits. This sale has occurred without the knowledge or consent of the Indigenous communities residing there.
