Sam Bankman-Fried's bail modification request said to be rejected by U.S. judge

A federal judge was said to have rejected a proposal Tuesday to amend FTX ( FTT-USD ) co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried's bail conditions. That's despite an agreement on Monday between Bankman-Fried, who is facing fraud charges over the collapse of his crypto empire, and federal prosecutors that allowed him to send normal text messages and make Zoom and FaceTime calls, though he was banned from using Signal or any other encrypted messaging applications. U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan, New York, said a hearing on bail will take hold on Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. ET, CoinDesk reported. At the beginning of February, Bankman-Fried was prohibited from contacting current or former FTX employees on witness tampering fears.
